Three Sisters – Senior Moments Series – Laughing At Old Age

Three Sisters by Pat Brennan

Three Sisters Classic Joke

I have accumulated several cartoons depicting some of the things that happen to some but not all seniors.  I use them on Twitter.

Occasionally I find a short story/joke depicting the same general idea – that seniors see the world a bit different from the younger generation or two.

Here is one of those short story/joke items. It’s a classic, short, clean joke. It’s either hilarious or sad depending on the circumstances of the reader.

As one who has crossed the boundary of the senior people group myself, I find these stories amusing. While they can be so serious for some that they aren’t funny, for most seniors they bring a light moment into the reality of aging.

I hope you will enjoy this and pass it on to seniors that you think will enjoy it, too.

The Bath, the Stairs, and the Punchline

Three sisters age 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together.

One night the 96-year-old draws a bath, puts her foot in and pauses.

She yells down the stairs, “Was I getting in or out of the bath?”

The 94-year-old yells back, “I don’t know, I’ll come up and see.”

She starts up the stairs and pauses, then she yells,

“Was I going up the stairs or coming down?”

The 92-year-old was sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters. She shakes her head and says, “I sure hope I never get that forgetful.” She knocks on wood for good measure. She then yells, “I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who’s at the door.”

Well, what do you think?
