Amy Wilson Carmichael was a Protestant Christian missionary in India, who opened an orphanage and founded a mission in Dohnavur. She served in India for 55 years without furlough and wrote many books about the missionary work there.

But this doesn’t begin to tell the story of this amazing Heroine of the Faith who rescued over a thousand orphaned and abused children and lovingly nurtured them in her orphanage known as the Dohnavur Fellowship. She emphasized serving more than evangelizing directly and was criticized for her approach by some contemporaries.
