Silent Monks Singing Hallelujah for Christmas

Silent Monks

This Silent Monks performance of the Hallelujah Chorus was originally presented in 2008 by the  South Kitsap High School Vocal Music Christmas Concert – The Silent Monks – G.F. Handel, Hallelujah Chorus – Port Orchard, WA.

The video has over 19 million YouTube views!

The concept has been duplicated by other groups since that time.

It’s a fun way to kick off the Christmas season musically.

I wonder how many rehearsals it took to get everybody in sync!

The precision reminds me of a Christmas Chorus at my church that I was recruited into to sing carols at a local shopping mall many long years ago.

I wasn’t a regular member of the singers and it seemed I was the only one who forgot the proper sequence of “rumpa, pum pums” in the Little Drummer Boy. I bet I messed up 25 times in rehearsals and maybe got it right once or twice.

When we were actually getting ready to sing at the mall, I’m sure nobody expected what happened when the music started… I got it right!

That’s why I am so impressed with this live performance done flawlessly!

Etc.
