Dying Country Singer Joey Feek and Cancer, Death Where is thy Sting?
Intro
Joey Feek, 40 yr old country singer, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cervical cancer in May, 2014.
After aggressive treatment involving surgery, chemo and radiation she was recently told her condition would take her life.
With more aggressive and very unpleasant treatment, her life might be prolonged 6 to 9 months.
Joey opted to cease treatment and return home to be with her family under hospice care.
Her time is growing short.
The link below is to a November 16, 2015 article on the website Inquisitr.com that provides a well written and candid view of Joey’s battle with cancer and her strong faith in Jesus Christ, whether she lives or dies.
Read it now and then come back for a video.

When I’m Gone
Joey and her husband Rory have recorded dozens of Country and Blue Grass songs over the past several years, including this one that was uploaded to YouTube in 2012. As far as I can tell, Joey had no knowledge of any cancer when she recorded this song.
It clearly has immense meaning now.

This is a sad post and a sad time for Joey and Rory and many friends and fans and people like you and me who are moved by this life cut short.
There is more to the story, however, that makes it so appealing to so many people and that is the strong Christian faith and witness of this family when everything is on the line – life, death and the hereafter.
I have several emotions as I write this post and they are probably the same ones you have reading and seeing Joey’s story.
There is sorrow for a life full of good things and great relationships being cut short by this dreadful disease.
There is, as Joey says, disappointment that God has not miraculously healed her, but not anger at our sovereign God.
And there is the Hope that every Christian has for an eternity with God where there is no more sickness and no more death.
So, Joey, (and Rory) I can say this to you. Thank you for sharing your story. It has touched my heart and enriched me and strengthened my faith.
Etc.
