It’s been a while since I have featured a Great Castle/Palace post.

The main reason is that it is getting more difficult to find a worthy Castle/Palace candidate paired with a high quality narrated video tour.

I have located a few more candidates and will be offering more posts in coming weeks/months.

For this post, ABC NEWS produced a TV Special titled The Jubilee Queen: A Tour of Buckingham.

As part of this production a 5 1/2 minute video appeared on YouTube in May 2012 that has a nicely narrated tour of the palace.

My Personal Buckingham Palace Experience

 

My wife, Lynn, and I had the privilege of touring the castle and witnessing the famous Changing of the Guard back in the 1980s as a side trip from a business trip.

We found the institution of the monarchy, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the traditions like the Changing of the Guard totally fascinating.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have much in the way of photo equipment with us.

I hope this video tour will give you a glimpse of what we saw and maybe whet your appetite for a visit to the UK and its many fascinating historical venues.
