Amira Willighagen (9 years old) Singer Wins Holland’s Got Talent – UPDATED POST

 

I have updated this post to show how Amira has progressed in 7 years.

First, I have inserted a newer YouTube video of a performance of ‘O Sole Mio’ E di Capua to demonstrate how Amira has developed her voice over just three years. Remember, though, she is still only 12 years old at this point (until March 27, 2017)!

Next, I have added a selection from a 2020 Christmas concert – The Lord’s Prayer – showing even more maturity.

Amira Willighagen, age nine, has never had a voice lesson!

She learned all she knows about singing from watching performers on YouTube and learning from them.

She performed the song in the video featured here in the quarterfinals of Holland’s Got Talent in the October, 2013 and went on to win the finals.

This video has nearly 41 million views!

I have also included a wonderful rendering of Ave Maria by Amira in the semi finals.

Amira and Ben Heijnen singing “O Sole Mio” – E. di Capua

Video registration of the concert “Amira in Concert” that took place on December 9, 2016, in the Nieuwe Kerk Huizen, Netherlands.

The song “O Sole Mio” was chosen as the encore song which was much appreciated by the audience.While performing the song, Ben and Amira spontaneously turned it into a battle of who can sing the longest note ….. The orchestra and artists were rewarded with a standing ovation.

Amira and Ben accompanied by Harmonieorkest Prinses Irene Huizen, conducted by Joop Boerstoel.

Back in 2013 at the Holland’s Got Talent Contest, Amira told the judges she wanted to become a professional opera singer when she grows up.  She also added that she hoped to be an Olympic athlete if she doesn’t make it as a singer!
