How Did the Saint Patrick’s Day Holiday Get Started?
You may want to know what the March 17th Saint Patrick’s Day holiday is all about if you’re one of the few people in the world who doesn’t claim some Irish heritage, at least for one day of the year.
After doing a little research I found this article from the National Geographic website that covers the subject nicely, at least from a current American perspective.
I suspect an article from Ireland might have a slightly different flavor, however.
In an attempt to be a bit more historical and less secular, I looked up Saint Patrick in Wikipedia and found a rather extensive and informative article about the man himself and what is known about his life and impact on Ireland.
