The Sparrow – a Love Story About Fathers and Sons

The Sparrow Screen Shot

What Does a Sparrow Have to do With Fathers and Sons?

Well, it’s kind of like the song – The Cat’s in the Cradle.  I like the Johnny Cash version where Johnny made a point in a way that many people were willing to “hear”.

It was an audio lesson on how the negative role model of the father toward the son was repeated by the son against the father.

You can hear the song by clicking the button below.

The Story of an Old Father, His Son, and the Sparrow…

Here I have featured a lesson that isn’t quite the same situation but the video medium carries a “message” as well as the Johnny Cash song carried his “message”.

This lesson has threads of how any younger person may be tempted to treat any older person – with a lack of patience and respect.

In this example, it goes beyond the age difference. It homes in on what was an important memory to the father about a sparrow that they both watched with great interest when the son was three years old.

Take a look.

It makes you think, doesn’t it?

What was important to both the father and the son years earlier is now even more important to the father but isn’t even remembered by the son.

The son could have reacted to his father in a number of ways but he chose a very poor way, didn’t he.

A wise friend of mine once said, “You never have to take back anything you didn’t say.”

Etc.
